The Planning Process

Amara Cremorne by Pathways received State Significant Development Application (SSDA) approval for a high-quality seniors living and residential aged care residence at 50–88 Parraween Street and 59–67 Gerard Streete in April 2025.

The approved development includes:

  • 58 independent living units across three four-storey buildings and one seven-storey building

  • A 41-bed residential aged care facility

  • Active street frontages designed to complement and enhance the surrounding neighbourhood

  • A landscaped pedestrian link providing public access through the site

  • Two levels of basement parking for residents, staff and visitors

  • Retention and adaptive reuse of six heritage-listed cottages on Parraween Street

The final approved project design responded to community feedback received throughout the SSDA process including:

  • retention of the cottages from 78-88 Parraween Street

  • removal of rooftop terraces from all buildings to protect privacy of our neighbours

  • reduction fo the height of the building on Gerard Street from 8 storeys to 7 storeys

  • reconfiguration of the green space to improve accessibility.

We are pleased to have secured project approval for a high quality design that is integrated with the local neighbourhood and will add value to the local community.
