The Planning Process
The State Significant Development Application for Amara Cremorne was placed on public exhibition from Monday 21 August 2023 to Sunday 17 September 2023.
A total of 134 public submissions were received during the public exhibition period
Key feedback from the community included:
Preference to maintain more of the original cottages on the Parraween Street frontage
Concern about privacy impacts of rooftop terraces for neighbouring apartments
Concern about the height of the building on Gerard Street.
Following the submission of the SSDA, heritage listings were placed on six of the Parraween Street cottages by North Sydney Council.
Based on community feedback, new Council heritage listings, and consultation with DPHI, the project team has revised the scheme as follows:
The single storey frontage on Parraween Street has moved from the western end of the site to the eastern end of the site, to allow retention of the cottages from 78-88 Parraween Street
Rooftop terraces have been removed from all buildings
The height of the building on Gerard Street has reduced from 8 storeys to 7 storeys
The green space has been reconfigured to improve accessibility.
There are no changes to the site boundary, the footprint of each of the four buildings, or the use of the site for seniors living and residential aged care.
We are pleased to present a revised scheme that demonstrates a meaningful response to the issues raised by the community and local interest groups, Council and the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
